All About "Keywords" and Selecting the Appropriate Print

What is the "Keyword List"?

The "keyword list" is a (type-in-only) MICROSOFT WORD document / questionnaire that you download on your computer and complete at your own pace, saving as you go. You'll provide the answers to some questions and type a sentence or two that describes each of the "main" moments and memories that you want represented on your street. Once this form is completed you will attach and email it to us as instructed on the form. In order to stay on schedule your completed list must be submitted to us at least 4 days before the proof date that you received from us shortly after you placed your initial order. We have many examples of keywords and the visuals that were created to represent them at the bottom of this page... take a look before you start preparing your list.

What exactly is a "main" moment or memory?

We consider each "main" moment or memory a single event. As you will see in the animated example to the right, a vacation to Paris, France with shopping, dinners and tours is a great memory with many special individual moments. However, the trip to Paris and the date they traveled is the "main" event or memory, and all that we really need to know.

Think of this as a charm bracelet, the charms do not tell a complete story, they simply remind the recipient to remember a special moment or memory... at that point, their own memory takes over to recall all of the details.

How much of a description do you need for each one?

A your keyword description should be brief and to the point, typically 50 words or less. Be sure that you include all of the important details like, colors, dates, times, names etc. There are plenty examples below that will help you... remember, we create symbols that wakeup the recipients sleeping memory.

Should I send any reference materials?

The only reference materials you should e-mail us are logos that we would not have access to like a small private company or a local hang-out. We have and can locate national logos for hotels, sports teams, major companies and airlines. Photos are not necessary, as this is an art print. Send logos in JPG, TIF, or GIF file format, attached to your keyword list or in separate e-mails. If you request a specific logo, please tell us where we can find it on a Web site or provide us with a file.

Send all reference materials and attachments to:
keywords@yourmemorylane.com.

It is very important that your order number, last name,
and a descriptive word for the subject appear in the subject box.
Example: Subject: 1234-5, Smith, logos.

How do I decide which street to order. . . the 3, 5 or 8-Building?

Each street comfortably displays a certain number of moments and memories that are displayed on the buildings, vehicles on the street, street signs and information that may appear in the sky. Select by your budget or by the total number of elements you wish to display. If you are selecting by budget, you'll need to limit the number of events to what your street will display. Otherwise, select the street that comes closest to the total number of events that you want displayed. See chart below.

3-Building Street Displays 5-Building Street Displays 8-Building Street Displays
14 Memories and Moments,
3 street signs, 4+ vehicles.
24 Memories and Moments,
4 street signs, 5 vehicles.
38 Memories and Moments,
5 street signs, 6 vehicles.

Keyword examples

The following additional keyword examples that may be of help to you. Remember... keep it simple, to the point, and give us the important details, such as colors, dates, names, and places.

"We met in February of 2002  through a dating service called Match.com".

Short and to the point, this is really all of the information we need to know.

"Our first date was in March 2003. We dined at Continental Bistro in Atlantic City. It was a small local restaurant; I don't think it had a logo."

If you do not have a logo to represent a keyword, but know where we can find it on the Web, just give us the address. If there isn't a logo, we will configure type to make a sign, as we did here.

"We were married January 1, 2004 at Turtle Island, Fiji, on Shell Beach".

We know that Shell Beach is very famous for turtles, so we created the turtle graphic.

"Our wedding song was 'Just the Way You Are' by Billy Joel."

When you can't remember anything else, a favorite song, saying, or a nickname can be the perfect solution.

"Clark is a Neurosurgeon and his wife, Crystal, collects Barbie Dolls."

This is a good example of specific information. From this sentence we created "Brain Power" and the truck graphic.

"During Jan and Feb 2004 we learned to snowboard. Took lessons at Snowbird Ski Resort in Utah."

Graphics we design go into our library for future use. We designed this snowboarder for this couple's snowboarding "moment".

"We really miss our golden retriever, Can you do something appropriate?"

Yes. And we can also recognize friends and family members who have passed on.

"My dad loves the New York Yankees can you put their logo somewhere?"

We have thousands of logos on file. If we don't have the one you need, you can email it to us. See instructions below.
